Our Games Library

Here’s a brief overview of the different sections and where you can find them…

2 player - Column 0
Dedicated 2 player games (we have lots of other games that work with two players, but these games are specifically designed for it)

Worker Placement Games - Column 1
These games all use the worker placement mechanic or something similar, which is where players place tokens to trigger an action from the set of actions available
Examples: Everdell, Viticulture Apiary

Engine Builder Games - Column 2 Sections A, B & C
In an engine builder, each player will usually start with the same very simple set of abilities. Over the course of the game, they can add to or modify their abilities to create a unique set of powers that will hopefully play off of each other
Examples: Wingspan, Wyrmspan, Tapestry

Area Control - Column 2 Sections D, E & F
This mechanic typically awards control of an area of a board to the player that has the majority of units or resources in that area and players compete for control of more areas
Examples: Catan, Small World, Root

Tile Placement/Patterns - Column 3
We kept this category quite broad but essentially these games all have a mechanic along the lines of players picking/blindly drawing a tile and then placing it
Examples: Azul, Cascadia, Tiny Towns

Strategy - Columns 4, 5 and 6
These are all the general competitive strategy games, there are also a couple of sub-sections within it:

Strategy - Card Games - B6 & B7

Strategy - Pick-and-pass C6 - Pick-and-pass games involve passing hands of cards between players with each player picking one card before passing the rest on
Examples: Bunny Kingdom, Sushi Go, 7 Wonders

Strategy - Push-your-luck - D6 & E6 - In these games players must decide between settling for existing gains, or risking them all for further rewards
Examples: King of Tokyo, Quacks of Quedlinburg, Camel Up

Co-operative Games - Columns 7 & 8
These are the co-operative games where players play together against the game instead of against each other. A couple of these have one player working against the team at points such as Betrayal at House on the Hill and Jurassic World
Examples: Escape the Dark Castle, Forbidden Jungle, Pandemic

Party Games - Columns 9 & 10
These are all the big group and party games
Examples: Cash n Guns, Wavelength, Monikers

Family - Column 11
This is the dedicated family-friendly section
Examples: Crown the Unicorn, Jungle Speed
